- Best served straight from fridge or a cooled lunchbox.
- *Please note that even if you buy pitted dates, you will still need to check each date for a pit or pit fragments. I usually do this by squeezing and then bending in half each date as I pop them into the mixer bowl. I discovered this the hard way, after finding some very hard pit fragments mixed through a recipe that called for dates.

- You can use most puffed cereal grains (eg. puffed white rice, puffed millet, puffed quinoa, puffed spelt) for this recipe, and I often use a mixture of 2 or 3 different grains in the one slice.
- Store in fridge in an airtight container.
- Can be frozen.
