Notes
- Best served straight from fridge.
- *Please note that even if you buy pitted dates, you will still need to check each date for a pit or pit fragments. I usually do this by squeezing and then bending in half each date as I pop them into the mixer bowl. I discovered this the hard way, after finding some very hard pit fragments mixed through a recipe that called for dates.
- **There is no need to clean the mixer bowl between making the orange caramel fudge and chocolate top, however please note that you may end up with some slightly "lumpy" bits in the chocolate top. If this bothers you, just rinse out the mixer bowl with approximately 1 cup of water for 8 seconds /speed 8 / mc on, and dry mixer bowl before proceeding.
- The chocolate fudge base and orange caramel fudge layers in particular are sticky and can take some work getting out of the mixer bowl. To enhance removal of food, after initial removal with spatula, simply set the mixer the closed lid position /turbo / 2 secs / 1 time / mc on and scrape out sides.
- I don't usually have trouble with the chocolate top layer splitting in this recipe, however if you find this is a problem, you may want to refer to "notes" on Raw Chocolate.
- Store in fridge in an airtight container.
- Can be frozen.
